A Shamrock for You!

Good morning blogger friends!

I'm up on the Tutti Designs Blog today sharing St. Patrick's Day inspiration using the Nesting Stitched Heart to create a shamrock for you! I've also used the Nesting Stitched Banner and Nesting Stitched Tag dies on this card.  These versatile collections are all available in the Tutti Designs Store.

I'm a wee bit Irish on both parents side.  My genealogy research reveals a great, great, great grandfather that was born in Ireland many, many years ago, when it was still part of Great Britain.  Green is my favorite color's reminds me of spring and everything new after the long winter.  So, it was refreshing to create this St. Patrick's Day card!

'Three Wishes"

The Nesting Stitched Heart die worked perfectly to create the dimensional shamrock that is the focal point of this card.

I cut 9 medium sized hearts using the Nesting Stitched Hearts and scored them down the center.  I made smaller ones too, in case I decided to add more shamrocks.

Each petal consists of 3 hearts adhered together to create the shamrock.

Here's a close up of the 3-D shamrock along with the sentiment that I printed, cut, and matted using the Nesting Stitched Tag.  I cut several of the Nesting Stitched Banners in different colors to tuck between the layers and under the sentiment tag.  Instead of making smaller shamrocks, I used 3 of the hearts as the top layer for the larger hearts on the shamrock.

Finished 3-D Shamrock card.

"When Skies Are Gray"

Good morning blogger buddies!

Phew, we're through another month of winter and hopefully on the downside of the cold, dreary weather!!  I am soooo ready for Spring.  Until then though, we are sticking with a winter theme on the Double D Challenge Blog..."When Skies Are Gray".

I can't help but think of The Mamas and The Papas old 60's tune, California Dreamin'.

"All the leaves are brown, and the sky is gray.
I've been for a walk on a winter's day."

Team Diane is sharing their inspiration and hosting for the next two weeks along with help from Team Darlene.  The mood board offers a variety of interesting shapes, textures and designs for this challenge.

I was inspired by everything on this mood board. The honeycombs, cups, patterns and scarf fringe all called to me...even the wee bit of background green.

"Sweet to the Soul"

I'm back to my mini canvas, 6" x 6" card base for this project.  I wanted plenty of room for the honeycomb background I created using two different die cuts.  There's lots of hexagon shapes, both negative and positive, on this card front!

The tea cup and background hexagon pattern was made using a stencil and ink.  I pulled the light brown around the honeycomb in the first photo and paper roll in the third photo by adding some kraft color paper to the gray shades.  The green ribbon used for the bow has the same pattern as the stencil used for the tea cups.  I added loops of gray yarn under the bow and topped it with mesh flowers.  A couple of green leaves and a few bees complete the details.  The Bible verse was the perfect sentiment and pulled it all together.

Happy Easter Joy!

Hi there blogger friends!

It's my day up on the Tutti Designs Blog to share some Easter inspiration with you using the Tutti Designs Dotted Nesting Oval, Happy Easter Egg and Flower Joy.
This is a quick and easy card that you can make in minutes.
"Happy Easter"
 The "how-to"...

Cut your cardstock base A2 size, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and score on the long side at 4 1/4" to create a card that is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" in size.  You can use it as a side or top fold.

Cut the next layer (white cardstock) 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and adhere to the card base.

Cut the patterned paper 5 1/4" x 4" and adhere to white cardstock.

Cut the Happy Easter Egg and Flower Joy from the same white cardstock as 2nd layer.

Cut an oval using the Dotted Nesting Oval and adhere the Happy Easter Egg die cut to it.  On the back, add foam tape for dimension and adhere to the center of your card (left to right), but slightly higher (top to bottom) to leave room for the embellishing.

Make a small bow and glue at an angle to the base of the focal die.  Add flowers and mini pearls to embellish.

Adhere the Flower Joy die cut across the base from the bow outward.

Hi there, blogger buddies!

Today is my day up on the Tutti Designs Blog and I'm sharing a "think Spring" card using the Tutti Designs Dotted Nesting Circles,  Hugs Word Set and Tulip Panel.   I'm so ready to put the winter season behind me and celebrate Spring...

I restrained myself from a square card when creating this one so that the Tulip Panel, which is 2" x 6" would have a large background.  This card is 5" x 7" in size with a white card base layered in lavender and dusty purple cardstock.  I also used it to mat the white Tulip Panel and to make the Dotted Nesting Circles behind the Hugs sentiment. The green patterned paper was a great compliment to the shades of purple and the flower stems.

I added pearl accents around the sentiment and three tulips tied with a matching bow.

Inside the card, I made a pocket with the Dotted Nesting Circles and added a cup of cheer...Gevalia Cappuccino, a favorite of mine.

Is it Spring yet??
